> Reproducability of bug (e.g. intermittent or 100% reproducable): I bought this laptop (Sony VAIO VGN-FZ15, similar to FZ16 and FZ17) a couple of days ago, and since then experienced multiple (5? 7?) of those freezes. Most of the time it just disturbs me, because the music stutters for some seconds. But sometimes, it freezes completely, and any unsaved work is lost. --> Unusable. > Did this problem not exist in previous version of the driver? I don't know - didn't try any earlier version. > AP brand/model AVM Fritzbox 7050 - worked well with my old Laptop with ipw3945 > dmesg output at debug level 0x43fff I think I don't have debug level 0x43fff activated. I'll activate it and report new occurences of this issue with debug output. For now, please check the normal output on my blog entry at http://patrick-nagel.net/blog/archives/59 > Type of security (if any) you are using (e.g. WEP64, WEP128, WPA, WPA2, 802.1x, etc) WPA2 (PSK) with wpa_supplicant > Version of firmware 1.14.2 > Proximity to the AP 1-2 metres If any other information would be helpful, I'd be glad to provide it ASAP. Patrick.
I think this is a major issue.
Another one... see http://patrick-nagel.net/blog/archives/59
Another temporary freeze, this time I had debug messages enabled. The result is here: https://patrick-nagel.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/ipwbug.log
This time it was permanent again... with debug logging enabled: https://patrick-nagel.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/ipwbug2.log
ipw3945 as a driver has been replaced by iwl3945 in official kernel for a long time. We suggest to use iwl3945 driver instead of the obsolete ipw3945 driver. If you have bug, please report it with product=iwlwifi and platform="Intel(R) Wifi Link 3945". Thanks so much!
